We have built Giant Chimes at Ormiston Children's Centre in Ipswich. The giant chimes installation at Aldeburgh Music, which was project managed and constructed by Purple Moments, was a great hit with the many people who came to see them.

Layke 31et Guitar

The Layke guitar is a standard scale semi-acoustic guitar re-fretted with 31 frets in the first octave. It was conceived by Stuart Stevens, and created by Jerry Crosson at The Fret Workshop, Felixstowe, Suffolk.

Commissioned from composer Stuart Stevens by Aldeburgh Music, thirty-one is a giant musical instrument installation, consisting of 62 Aluminium tubes tuned to 31-tone equal temperament. Purple Moments co-op were responsible for the project management and construction of the instrument.

Mayors civic service

Councillor Jane Chambers, Mayor of Ipswich commissioned Stuart Stevens to write a piece for her civic service at St Mary le Tower Church following her mayor making ceremony.

deckchair

Purple Moments were invited by the organiser of Suffolk Coastal Deckchairs, Ann McBride, to design and paint a deckchair canvass as part of a unique collection to be auctioned to raise funds for St Elizabeth Hospice in Suffolk. Stuart Stevens and Chantelle Love composed a piece for guitar and flute called “Moments in a Purple Deckchair”.

Gamelan Concert

The free concert at St Peter's by the Waterfront Church, Ipswich. Following a parade along Ipswich Waterfront as part of the Ip-Art Festival, instruments made from recycled materials by students at NACRO were used in the performance of “Concerto for a Gamelan Trouve, composed by Stuart Stevens.
