SuffolkPride09-79

Purple Moments were contracted by Suffolk LGBT Network to organise a running programme of free live music for Suffolk Pride in Ipswich. This was the first ever event in Suffolk celebrating the LGBT community. There were many diverse styles of music played during the afternoon to the enthusiastic crowd.

We worked closely with Eclipse Sound & Light Ltd regarding the stage, sound and lighting and the event was stage managed by Gordon Soames and Lyn Jones of Purple Moments.

Gordon also negotiated with Stacy Lentz, co-owner of The Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village, New York to link up live on stage during the afternoon on the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall riots in June 1969.

The Suffolk Lesbian & Gay Helpline, Suffolk County Council and Suffolk Constabulary had joined forces to organise Suffolk Pride and the free event took place in Ipswich's Christchurch Park on Sunday 13 September 2009.
