Purple Moments were invited by the organiser of Suffolk Coastal Deckchairs, Ann McBride, to design and paint a deckchair canvass as part of a unique collection to be auctioned to raise funds for St Elizabeth Hospice in Suffolk. Stuart Stevens and Chantelle Love composed a piece for guitar and flute called “Moments in a Purple Deckchair”.

Gamelan Concert

The free concert at St Peter's by the Waterfront Church, Ipswich. Following a parade along Ipswich Waterfront as part of the Ip-Art Festival, instruments made from recycled materials by students at NACRO were used in the performance of “Concerto for a Gamelan Trouve, composed by Stuart Stevens.

Gamelan Parade

Gathering at University Campus Suffolk, members of the public were invited by our team to construct and decorate a set of small hand-held chimes on a wooden base before taking part in a parade along Ipswich Waterfront as part of Ip-Art 2010.

Waterfront gamelan instruments

We were invited to work with students at NACRO in Ipswich for six months on a project building musical instruments tuned to an Indonesian Gamelan scale from scrap and waste materials.

Purple Moments were contracted by Suffolk LGBT Network to organise a running programme of free live music for Suffolk Pride in Ipswich. This was the first ever event in Suffolk celebrating the LGBT community. There were many diverse styles of music played during the afternoon to the enthusiastic crowd.
